President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the distribution of the Certificate of Acceptance and Occupancy of Temporary Shelter Units by Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) and launching of the Landbank Financial Assistance Program (LFAP) for Marawi and Siyapan (Care) Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Center at Barangay Sagonsongan in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.

The President, together with Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chairman Eduardo Del Rosario, handed over 250 Certificates of Acceptance and Occupancy to families affected by the Marawi siege.

In his message, President Duterte called on every Moro to be vigilant against terrorist groups and to refuse entry to them, “let us avoid terrorism. It is not the correct way to obey Islam. You do not kill and destroy for no reason at all, kaya I beg of you not to allow them to enter because it will just cause massive destruction and the loss of lives, including the innocent ones, who are really the helpless in case of war. It was a nightmare to me, being a President and to see what was evolving here.”

The President also guaranteed that the government would continuously aid them to help rehabilitate Marawi City and its businesses, “We will try to build a new city. I will guarantee you for the remaining years that there will always be money for you, that you would be able to rehabilitate your business… pagandahin ninyo ang Marawi and welcome everybody… invite the Christians and provide them security,” he said.

In closing, the President assured the Moros of government’s commitment towards securing a lasting peace in Mindanao, “this is our golden opportunity, we will proceed with the peace talks and I said, I have been very frank, we avoid trouble in Mindanao, we go for a federal system and we will try to craft something that could fit the BBL (Bangsamoro Basic Law) or whatever it is convenient that could make the Moro happy.”

Alongside the event, Landbank President and CEO Mr. Alex V. Buenaventura launched the Landbank Financial Assistance Program (LFAP) and turned over PhP 15 million in financial assistance, of which PhP 10 million would be given to Marawi City Mayor Majul U.
