President Rodrigo Roa Duterte welcomed Minister Seiko Noda of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan, who paid a courtesy call in Malacañan Palace.

The President expressed his gratification upon meeting Minister Noda and thanked the Japanese people for aiding the Philippines in various government projects.

Minister Noda was joined by H.E. Koji Haneda, Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines; Kenichi Imabayashi, Director-General, Global Strategy Bureau Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications; Kazuaki Omori, Director, International Cooperation Division, Global Strategy Bureau; and Takehiro Kano, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan.

President Duterte represented the Philippine side together with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Eliseo Rio, Jr., and Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque.

Minister Seiko Noda visited the Philippines upon the invitation of Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Christopher ‘Bong’ Go during the State Banquet of President Duterte’s visit to Japan last October 2017.
