President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, together with his fellow leaders from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), participated in the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) Retreat I at the Intercontinental Da Nang Resort in Da Nang City, Vietnam.
The AELM Retreat I tackled ‘Growth Inclusion and Sustainable Employment in the Digital Age’ wherein the leaders had a conversation with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde on the “state and prospects of the global economy and implications for the Asia-Pacific.”
President Duterte is expected to speak in Retreat I on the specified topics – “Ways to consolidate regional and global economic recovery, promote quality growth, structural reform, ease of doing business, quality human resources development, and strengthen MSMEs competitiveness and innovation; Strengthen the inclusiveness of development, particularly economic, financial and social inclusion, in tandem with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and, More focus on resilient inclusive economies, sustainable rural-urban development, food-water-energy security, disaster risk reduction, and women’s economic empowerment.”
