Following his attendance in the 67th Birthday of the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC), President Rodrigo Roa Duterte made rounds and conferred awards to several wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers confined at the Manila Naval Hospital in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu, with the Rank of Kampilan, was awarded to nine soldiers who were wounded during the Marawi crisis. They were TSG Hector S. Pizon, SGT Benjie B. Trilles, SSG Roderick B. Pervandos, SGT Jayson E. Gigante, TSSGT Rolly Magalona, PVT MC Riel G. Omilig, PFC Christopher Famulag, PFC Bernard Ariglado, and PFC Jomar Abuan.

The award also came with cash assistance and cell-phone units.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu, Rank of Kampilan, is awarded to “officials and personnel of the Government and private individual who were seriously wounded or injured or suffered great loss of property as a direct result of their participation in an activity pursuant to a campaign or advocacy of the President.”
