The Shibuya Crossing is considered to be the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world, sending about 2,500 people in all five major crosswalks that converge together. But despite the sheer volume of pedestrians simultaneously crossing in all directions, it remains orderly, with the people being polite with each other.

Also situated in the corner of one of the five major crosswalks is another hidden gem that, over the years, has drawn tourists from all walks of life to get a glimpse of a statue of the world’s most famous loyal dog, named Hachiko.

Hachiko is remembered for its remarkable loyalty to its owner, for whom it waited for over nine years after the owner’s passing.

The dog’s story has become a worldwide sensation after books and movies of it, with the latest starring Richard Gere in 2009, which touched so many hearts.
