President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conferred the posthumous Order of Lapu-Lapu, Rank of Kalasag to PO3 Junior Hilario in his wake visit at the Neo Vista Subdivision in Bagumbong North Caloocan.

The 36 year-old police officer and member of the Caloocan City Police Community Precinct 3 (PCP-3), Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), was killed in an anti-illegal drug operation against Jason Dela Cruz, a drug suspect, at Barangay Silang in Caloocan City around 12:00 AM on September 8, 2017. The drug suspect was also killed after the operation while a caliber .45 pistol, three sachets of shabu, and drug paraphernalia were recovered.

During his visit, President Duterte gave his salute to the fallen officer and talked with the bereaved family. He provided financial assistance to the Junior’s wife, Gilda Hilario, and educational support to his six year-old son, Jun Hilario.
