H.E. Gen. Vijay Kumar Singh, the Minister of State for External Affairs of India, convenes with the foreign ministers of five Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries – Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam – for the 8th Mekong – Ganga Cooperation (MGC) Ministerial Meeting at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City of August 7, 2017.

The MGC is an initiative of the six countries to further bolster multinational cooperation in tourism, culture, education, and transport and communications. It was launched in Vientiane, Lao PDR in 2000.
