Ending his posting for four years in the country, outgoing United Kingdom (UK) Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Asif Ahmad, paid a farewell call to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in Malacañan Palace.

Prior to his assignment as UK’s envoy to the Philippines, Ambassador Ahmad visited Manila a number of times since 2004 in his role as Director Asia for UK Trade and Investment, and later as the head of the London team that covers Britain’s foreign policy interests in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Accompanying the President during the courtesy call were Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, DFA Assistant Secretary Maria Cleofe Natividad, DFA Director Leila Lora-Santos, and DFA Director Pablito Mendoza.
