For the second time around, Filipino-American Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra paid a courtesy call on President Benigno S. Aquino III in Malacañang after his welcome-back press conference at the Marriott Hotel Manila.

Coach Spoelstra gave the President a customized Miami Heat jersey with a number 15 on it and snapback cap with his autograph.

The Fil-Am coach was joined by Miami Heat Charitable Fund Executive Director Steve Stowe, National Basketball Association Asia Senior Vice President and Managing Director Scott Levy, NBA Asia Director of Basketball Operations Sefu Bernard, NBA Asia Director of Global Marketing Partnerships Francesco Suarez, Miami Heat Player Development Director Daniel Craig, and Miami Heat Asst. Coach David Fizdale.

Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas, TESDA Director General Joel Villanueva, Araneta Center Inc. Chairman and CEO Jorge Araneta and NBA Asia Country Manager Carlo Singson were also present during the call.

Coach Spoelstra and President Aquino talked about several topics such as their common interests in basketball and the administration’s accomplishments.

Miami Heat bagged the 2012 NBA championship title against the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 121-106 score on June 21, 2012, winning the finals series 4-1.
