President Rodrigo Roa Duterte designated Col. Lope Dagoy as the new head of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), replacing BGen. Rolando Bautista, as the 15th Commander during the Change of Command Ceremony at the PSG Compound, Malacañang Park.

Speaking before the men and women of PSG, President Duterte entrusted his full confidence and trust to the new PSG Commander, assuring the public that the stunning credentials and experience of Col. Dagoy will make him an effective leader and protector of the Presidency, the First Family, and the whole PSG.

President Duterte also took the opportunity to commend several upgrades and improvements that have happened to PSG for the past nine months, including the extensive trainings that some PSG troopers took here and abroad.

According to him, these have contributed greatly to the enhancement of knowledge and capability of every trooper. Through these, the PSG has been effectively involved in developing their skills, promote healthy lifestyle, and encourage civilian engagement.

“This has made the PSG stronger, more dependable, more competent… and it will be so for all time,” the Commander-in-Chief said.

He added, “I stand confident, assured knowing that the PSG would have my back, as I and the rest of the government pursue the important task of bringing prosperity, order, and security to our country.”

Prior to his appointment, Col. Dagoy is President Duterte’s senior military adviser. He served as the Chief of Staff of the Eastern Mindanao Command in Davao City and was a graduate of Philippine Military Academy “Hinirang” Class of 1987.
