President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Official Visit to the
Kingdom of Thailand
March 20-22, 2017
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte completes his journey in visiting member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with his official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand from March 20-22, 2017 right after his trip to Myanmar.
The President is set to have a meeting with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to reinforce the bilateral relations of almost seven decades between the Philippines and Thailand. Both leaders will discuss cooperation in various fields of mutual interests like trade and investment, tourism, agriculture, energy, educational and technical cooperation.
Thailand’s core business groups will also get to hear the Philippines varied investment opportunities during the ‘Invest Philippines CEO Roundtable’ in this official visit.
He is also expected to meet with more than a thousand members of the Filipino community working and residing in Thailand before going back to Manila on the 22nd of March.
The President’s last visit to Thailand was when he paid his respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away on October 13, 2016. Thailand is observing a yearlong official mourning period.
