President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was welcomed aboard by the Russian Federation delegates and the Russian Navy as he toured the Russian large anti-submarine ship ‘Admiral Tributs’ at Pier 15 in Port Area, Manila.

Russian Federation Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev, the ship’s Commander LCDR Artem Kolpaschikov, and other Russian delegates played host to the President’s tour of the ship.

President Duterte was first shown Admiral Tributs’ 2 x 4-container launchers of Rastrub Rocket Torpedo System. This was followed by a visit to the bow of the ship where the President witnessed a demonstration of the ship’s missile weapon system and was shown various military hardware including the 100-mm AK-100 gun mounts, 6-barreled 30-mm AK-630m machine guns and RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launchers.

At the Admiral Tributs’ Ward Room, President Duterte signed the ship’s guestbook and wrote a short message for the ship’s commander and crew.

Furthermore, the President witnessed a demonstration by Russian diver soldiers and went up to the ship’s bridge where the Russian Navy demonstrated its navigation system. On his way out, President Duterte also viewed the Russian Navy Ka-27 helicopter at the ship’s helideck.

The President was accompanied in the tour by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Eduardo Año, and other officers of the Philippine Navy (PN), Air Force (PAF) and Army (PA).
