President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attended the 38th birthday celebration of Senator Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Pacquiao at the KCC Convention and Events Center in General Santos City.

During the celebration, the President was entertained by the five finalists of Senator Manny Pacquiao’s Mindanao-wide Bisaya Singing Competition. The local talents expressed their honor to sing before the President of the country.

In the Senator’s welcome remarks, he described the Chief Executive as the President who can “discipline the people of this country.”

President Duterte, in his message, reassured the people that he is in the prime of his health and would continue the fight against illegal drugs. He emphasized that there is a need for this war to succeed, saying that it is the government’s aim “to protect the next generation… and let them run the country when we are no longer here in this planet.”
