President Rodrigo Roa Duterte welcomed Jeslyn Santos, a 23-year old Filipina who became the first Asian to be crowned Miss United Continents, during a courtesy call held in Davao City.
Jeslyn, who hails from Hagonoy, Bulacan, impressed the judges and audience with her remarkable and inspiring answer on how she will unite the continents of the world. During the question and answer portion, Jeslyn Santos delivered her response in Spanish. The pageant night was held at the Palacio De Cristal in Guayaquil, Equador last September 24, 2016.
Aside from Miss United Continents 2016 Jeslyn Santos, the five winners of Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 also paid a visit to President Duterte. They are Tessa le Conge (Netherlands), Miss Asia Pacific International 2016; Chawanya Thanomwong (Thailand), First Runner-up; Ganiel Akrisha Krishnan (Philippines), Second Runner-up; Felicia George (Cook Islands), Third Runner-up; and Soyeon Kim (Korea), Fourth Runner-up.
President Duterte expressed his warmest congratulations to the beauty queens and invited them for dinner afterwards in a Davao City restaurant as a gesture of hospitality.
