After the welcome honors accorded to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the Istana Nurul Iman, he was accompanied by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah inside the Cheradi Laila Kenchana.

The Sultan introduced the President to the members of the Royal Family that include the Crowne Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah; Prince Mateen of Brunei; and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, the Queen consort of Brunei and wife of the Sultan.

Afterwards, President Duterte introduced the members of the Philippine delegation to His Majesty comprising several Cabinet Secretaries and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
