Ambassador Ma. Lumen Isleta is the current Chief of Mission of the Philippines to the Republic of Indonesia.

The Ambassador said that the forthcoming visit of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to Indonesia is very significant for the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Indonesia. She also gave updates on government efforts pertaining to the case of Mary Jane Veloso, a Filipina who was on death row for drug trafficking and was granted a last-minute reprieve before her execution in April 2015.

On issues concerning maritime security especially in the Sulu Sea, Ambassador Isleta emphasized the Philippine government’s continuous cooperation with Indonesia and Malaysia through a series of meetings conducted by the three countries defense and military officials.

Ambassador Isleta is previously the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic from November 2011 to February 2015.
