President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the members of the Liberal Party in a small gathering at the Club Filipino in Greenhills where he laid out his administration’s achievements and the challenges it faced in the past six years.

With less than a month before the May 9 presidential election, President Aquino recalled the various trials and challenges his administration faced when they assumed office back in 2010, and how the administration was able to turn things around. Among those mentioned were the completion of classroom backlogs, sitio electrification of more than 32,441 towns, 4.6 million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino beneficiaries and the 6% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

However, despite these gains, the President also identified several other challenges that need to be addressed and must be prioritized by the incoming administration, such as the awarding of the National Bilibid Prison as Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project and the construction of the Laguna Lake.

The President urged the members of the Liberal Party to continue what his administration has fostered and the gains it has instituted through its reform slogan “Tuwid na Daan.”

“Tingnan natin kung saan tayo nanggaling, ilang taon, ilang dekada inisip natin yan ang tadhana ng Pilipino hindi na magbabago yan. At ngayon, pinakita natin, ang laki ng pagbabago kung maayos ang pamamahala…kailangan i-klaro natin sa mga kababayan natin, hindi pwede isugal ito…hindi kailangan isugal na baka bumalik tayo sa dati. Pwede natin palakihin at palawakin pa ang nangyayaring pagbabago,” President Aquino said.
