Iriga City, Camarines Sur
12 February 2016

President Benigno S. Aquino III met with local leaders and residents of Iriga City in the province of Camarines Sur.

“Nang simulan natin ang Daang Matuwid, may nangarap man lang bang aabot tayo sa puntong ito?” asked President Aquino when he mentioned in his speech a few of the administration’s achievements and contributions for the positive reform of the country.

Among these are the 6,200 kilometers of roads all over the country built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), saving up at least P55 billion from its budget. The Armed Forces of the Philippines, through its ongoing modernization, has also been equipped with new combat utility and attack helicopters, Weather High Endurance Cutters, multi-purpose attack craft, armored personnel carrier and fighter jets.

In a local scale, the President also cited some government initiatives in the entire Camarines Sur, such as the energization of 100 sitios by March 2016, the newly constructed roads, ports, and flood-control projects among others.

“Ngayon po, kinakapos na ng oras, para masabi ang napakarami na nating tagumpay. Mga Boss, ilan lang yan sa mga itinuring na imposible, at nagawa nating posible,” he said.
