President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the executives of Rolls Royce and Cebu Pacific on the second day of his official visit to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Cebu Pacific has recently selected Rolls Royce to provide the airline with long-term TotalCare service support for Trent 700 engines on up to eight Airbus A330 aircrafts. These will be the first Trent engines in Cebu Pacific’s fleet. The contract is worth approximately $280 million.
Cebu Pacific will use the A330 aircrafts to launch long-haul operations to destinations where there is a large Filipino population, such as Europe, the United States of America, Oceania and the Middle East in the second half of 2012.
Rolls Royce is a world-leading provider of power systems and services for use on land, at sea and in the air, and has established a strong position in global markets such as civil aerospace, defense aerospace, marine and energy. It has a broad customer base comprising more than 500 airlines, 4,000 corporate and utility aircraft and helicopter operators, 160 armed forces, more than 4,000 marine customers, and energy customers in more than 80 countries.
The Group employs more than 40,000 people in offices, manufacturing and service facilities in over 50 countries. Over 11,000 of these employees are engineers.
Cebu Pacific operations include 19 international destinations and 33 domestic destinations. The airline operates flights from its hubs in Manila, Clark, Cebu and Davao.
