President Benigno S. Aquino III received the Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CEMEX, Fernando Gonzales, in a courtesy call at Malacañan Palace

Present during the call were Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory Domingo and Energy (DOE) Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla.

Accompanying Fernando Gonzales were Ambassador Julio Camarena Villaseñor of the United Mexican States, CEMEX Asia President Joaquin Estrada, and CEMEX Strategic Philippines Incorporated President and CEO Pedro Palomino.

CEMEX is a global building materials company that provides high-quality products and reliable service to customers and communities in more than 50 countries throughout the world. In 1997, CEMEX entered Asia, through the Philippines, by buying into Rizal Cement Company, Inc. In 1999, CEMEX Philippines bought into APO Cement Corporation whose plant is based in Naga, Cebu, making them the second largest cement producer in the country.
