President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the officers of Aquilini Investors Group, a Canadian company that has renewable energy investments in the Philippines, headed by its founder Luigi Aquilini.

The company has invested US$25 million in a waste-to-energy plant at the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) complex in Mactan, Cebu. Having a great confidence in the Philippine economy, it plans to expand its investments in the areas of agriculture, aquaculture, housing and infrastructure.

Also present during the meeting were Aquilini Renewable Energy, Inc. president John Negrin, Aquilini Development and Construction, Inc. president David Negrin and Aquilini Mactan Renewable Energy, Inc. president Jesus Jayme Jr.
