“The Presidency is a job that requires faith,” President Benigno S. Aquino III stated when he attended the 2012 Global Day of Prayer with the theme: “Pray with One Voice” in Greenhills, San Juan City.
He reminded everyone that being always in the presence of God will provide guidance in making tough decisions and veering away from temptations. He said that he gathers strength from prayers in fulfilling his responsibilities as a President. “Whenever we face challenges in our lives, we take some time off our schedules to sit down and pray,” he said.
The President cited that prayers helped his family get through difficult times when his father, late senator Ninoy Aquino, was imprisoned during the Marcos Regime. He said, “Just as prayer and faith were able to unite my family during the darkest chapter of our lives, may it unite and strengthen all of us who attended the Global Day of Prayer.”
President Aquino was prayed over by the leaders of Global Day of Prayer Movement including Reverend Fernando Paunil, Dr. Hugh White, Bishop Manny Carlos, Pastor Dennis Sy, Bishop Janel Milan, Bishop Daniel Balais and Bishop Ruben Abante.
