President Benigno S. Aquino III called for continuous support from AKBAYAN Citizen’s Action Party in advocating change especially in eradicating corruption in the country.

“Naghangad tayo ng tunay na pagbabago sa bayan sa mapayapang paraan, kumikilos tayo para makamtan ito, at ngayon, sa tulong ng Akbayan at ng sambayanang Pilipino, natatamasa natin ang bunga ng adhikang ito”, the President said.

He added that AKBAYAN’s agenda has always been in line with his especially in giving voice to the marginalized Filipinos, which pushed him to urge AKBAYAN National Spokesperson Rita Hontiveros-Baraquel to run for senate under the administrative party.

AKBAYAN’s 5^th National Congress carries this year’s theme “Magandang Laban. Magandang Bukas” as it calls for support for the impeachment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.
