President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal II from his 12-day official and working visits to Europe and the United States.

In his speech, the President cited a few of the country’s gains from the 94 engagements he attended with different heads of states and business executives. Almost $2.35 billion worth of investments are expected, which will eventually create 33,850 jobs.

He also met with 22 corporations who believed in the country’s booming economy. Among the companies is Coca-Cola Company which had already committed $1 billion worth of investments before 2015. Additionally, he encouraged Volkswagen to establish a global manufacturing hub in the Philippines, given the country’s good location and workforce.

In his Europe trip, President Aquino expressed his gratitude to the European Union (EU) for lifting the ban on Philippine air carriers, adding that an Air Service Agreement was forged between the Philippines and France. Other agreements were also signed such as the Cultural Agreement and education-related agreements.

Meanwhile, at the United Nations Climate Summit in New York, the Chief Executive stressed his appeal to world leaders to work together in addressing the effects of climate change.

“Tunay nga po: ibang-iba na ang pagkilala sa Pilipinas ngayon, at sa atin pong pakikiambag, sa atin pong pakikisagwan sa iisang direksyon, mas lalo pa tayong igagalang at hahangaan ng buong mundo,” the President said in the end of his speech.
