President Benigno S. Aquino III visited the headquarters of Wells Fargo and Company based in San Francisco, California as he continued the last leg of his Visit to the United States.

Upon the President’s arrival, he was welcomed by Wells Fargo Chairman, President and CEO John Stumpf and other company officials. He was also introduced to the Filipino executive assistants. A business meeting took place afterwards.

Since 1902, Wells Fargo and Company has been present in the Philippines and has been providing trade, payments, deposits, credit, and other banking solutions to customers in the country through its Global Financial Institution (GFI) business beginning 1976.

The company also has 1,500 team members providing global customer service and other activities from the Philippines.

This year, Wells Fargo’s Global Remittance Services group is celebrating 20 years of remittances to the country. Through Wells Fargo’s ExpressSend, customers are able to send money to family and friends using more than 5,700 branches and almost 6,700 ATMs in the Philippines.

In 2013, Wells Fargo was ranked number one for overall customer satisfaction for global financial institutions (FImetrix, 2013). The company has a presence in 36 countries and has been helping customers manage their global businesses in 125 countries.
