The Freedom Tower, or One World Trade Center, replaced what was once New York’s World Trade Center which terrorists destroyed on September 11, 2001. It is America’s tallest building and stands over the city at 1,776 feet or 82-storeys high.

The 9/11 Memorial that was built and opened on the 10th anniversary of the attacks is to remember and honor the thousands of innocent men, women and children killed in 1993 and 2001. It consists of two pools set in the place of the original Twin Towers with thirty-foot waterfalls cascading into the pools and into a center void. The nearly 3,000 names of the victims of the attacks are inscribed in bronze parapets around the pools. Recently opened this year is the Museum that will preserve the history of 9/11.
