It is Spain’s national museum of the 20th century art. Officially inaugurated on September 10, 1992 and named after Queen Sofia. It is primarily dedicated to Spanish art and showcases a collection of the most famous masterpieces from world-renowned painters like Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. It likewise hosts a free access to its library which specializes in art. The central building of the museum was once an 18th-century hospital.
