United States President Barack Obama left the country at 11:30 am on board Air Force One that had been stationed at the Ages Hangar, Balagbag Ramp in Ninoy Aqunio International Airport (NAIA) since his arrival on Monday.
Before ending his two-day state visit, the U.S. President met with U.S. veterans and military servicemen at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Wellness Center in Fort Bonifacio engaged in the Annual Balikatan (shoulder-to-shoulder) military exercise between Filipino and American soldiers. In his speech, he acknowledged the Filipino and U.S. military servicemen who first responded at the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda.
President Obama also visited the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Fort Bonifacio where he led the wreath laying ceremony to pay tribute to the 17,000 fallen American soldiers of the World War II.
Government officials led by Vice President Jejomar Binay bade farewell to the American President as the Air Force One took off the NAIA tarmac, officially ending his four-nation Asia Pacific tour.
