President Benigno S. Aquino III received members of the San Francisco-Manila Sister City Committee (SFMSCC) in Malacañang.

In his speech, President Aquino thanked the SFMSCC for their visit to the Philippines, saying that this proves the depth of relationship that the two cities have. The President also thanked the committee’s help and assistance to the victims of the major calamities that struck the nation, particularly super typhoon Yolanda and the Bohol earthquake.

“On behalf of the Filipino people, I cannot overstate our gratitude. With your help – along with the unwavering support of our countrymen and friends the world over – our campaign to build back better continues with even more resolve,” the President said.

President Aquino also expressed his willingness to extend his utmost cooperation with SFMSCC in improving the economic and trade relations between the two cities. Adding that, opportunities like these, are a great way to revitalize the nation that would open more doors for the Filipino people.

“I have no doubt that, if we all continue giving our best collective effort for the betterment of our communities and our countries, then we will be that much closer to our shared vision of more prosperous lives for all our fellowmen,” President Aquino concluded.

San Francisco-Manila Sister City Committee serves as the preeminent cultural and economic link between San Francisco and Manila.
