President Benigno S. Aquino III welcomed His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of the Kingdom of Sweden during his courtesy call at the Malacañan Palace.

The Swedish King, who is the honorary Chairman of World Scout Foundation (WSF), is in the country to grace the Invitational Peace Jamboree of the Boy Scout of the Philippines, which is celebrating its centenary year. His three-day stay includes a visit to typhoon-ravaged Tacloban City on Sunday (January 26).

By virtue of Republic Act 7278, President Benigno S. Aquino III is delegated as the country’s Chief Scout while Vice President Jejomar Binay serves as the National President of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
