The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to provide relief assistance to those badly affected by the strongest typhoon that hit the country, super typhoon Yolanda.  Day and night, social workers from the department help in distributing relief goods to 60 barangays of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, which consist of 13,500 families.  They monitor every relief distribution to ensure that the goods are distributed equally and that these go to its designated places. As of the latest, there are about 1.4 million people affected by the said typhoon, of which 47,087 came from the municipality of Guiuan.
