President Benigno S. Aquino III formally received from Korean auto giant Hyundai Motor Group and its Philippine distributor Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) a donation of 25 million pesos that will support the national government’s program of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the communities in the Visayas destroyed by ‘Super Typhoon Yolanda’.
HARI Chairman Emeritus Richard Lee, Chairman Edward Go, President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo and Hyundai Motor Company Regional Headquarters Director Hoo-Keun Kim turned over the check to President Aquino.
Hyundai has provided a total of P50 million in financial assistance for relief and rehabilitation efforts in the Philippines, including an aid of US$600,000 (worth P25 million) to Red Cross Philippines.
In addition, 41 Hyundai dealerships nationwide are setting up Sagip Boxes for contributions of their customers and the general public to help sustain relief efforts.
Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Social Welfare and Development Undersecretary Parisya Taradji were also present during the occasion.
