President Benigno S. Aquino III was given an update during a closed-door meeting with head officials from different government agencies involved in Task Force ‘Yolanda’.
Following the morning reports of Task Force ‘Yolanda’, Chairman and Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Mar Roxas said they are now gaining momentum to bring back normalcy in severely typhoon-affected towns in the region with a systematic approach led by different task force clusters. Indicative of which he says was the dramatic increase of relief goods distribution that tripled its delivery count as days go by. From an initial of 15,447 food packs delivered last Thursday, the number has increased to 114,438 distributed food packs.
Support is also pouring in from different international organizations, private sectors and the local government units to help rehabilitate severely affected towns in the region.
After the command conference, President Aquino conducted a series of inspection in Tacloban City.
