President Benigno S. Aquino III received reports and information from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), on the extent of the damage from the earthquake that rocked Bohol early Tuesday morning (15 October 2013).

In a briefing presided by Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto, he reported to the President the beating received by the province such as the damage of 11 bridges and 21 churches including the Loboc Church that suffered the most damages. He was also informed of the death toll which rose to a total of 97 while 173 are injured and seven people were reported missing. Some causes of death were due to landslides and the collapse of structures.

At present, the province is still experiencing aftershocks numbering to about 200. The magnitude 7.2 earthquake was said to have an energy equivalent to around 32 Hiroshima atomic bombs.
