Quezon Park, Dumaguete City

President Benigno S. Aquino III met with local leaders and the community at the Quezon Park in Dumaguete City right after his visit to Bais City.
In his statement, President Aquino expressed his admiration for the strength and resilience of the Negrenses for they were able to rise again from the destruction brought by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that hit Dumaguete more than a year ago.
The President then cited several ongoing road projects for the community. These infrastructures include the Bais-Kabankalan Road in the municipality of Mabinay and the P263-million road upgrading of the Sta. Catalina-Pamplona-Tanjay City Road, which will shorten the travel time of tourists visiting Luparan Falls, Mabulong Lake and the Pamplona Golf and Country Club.
Aside from the construction and rehabilitation of 31 irrigation systems to increase farm production, residents of Basay, Dauin, Zamboanguita, Bindoy, Canlaon City, Tayasan, La Libertad and Sta. Catalina are also set to benefit from the plan to construct nine farm-to-market roads in their areas.
“Lahat po ng ito ay gawa ng bawat Negrenseng nakikisagwan sa tuwid na daan; nakamit natin lahat nang ito dahil sa tiwala’t suporta ninyo sa ating pamahalaan,” said President Aquino.
Before ending his statement, he called on the people to choose leaders in the coming elections that will support his administration in putting the nation towards progress and development.
