President Benigno S. Aquino III welcomed His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam who is in the country for a two-day State Visit.

This is the first visit of Sultan Bolkiah to Manila during the term of President Aquino which aims to deepen the bilateral relations of the two countries.  He was received by the Philippine Chief Executive in Malacanang for an arrival honors, followed by a courtesy call and a state luncheon.

Brunei is one of the closest partner of the Philippines especially in promoting development and peace in Mindanao.
