President Rodrigo Duterte convened the Executive Branch officials during the 8th Cabinet Meeting at the Aguinaldo State Dining Room in Malacañang.
Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi led the opening prayer and the group proceeded to discuss items on its agenda that ran for at least six hours.
Some of the discussions include a report on the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program for the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police duty casualties, quality generics medicine, science and technology priority programs, proposed privatization of IBC 13, highlights of the President’s recent foreign trips and updates on government efforts in response to Typhoon Lawin.
Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chairman Nur Misuari was also introduced to the members of the Cabinet in the middle of their meeting when the Moro leader arrived in Malacañang upon the invitation of President Duterte.
