President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. presided over the 4th meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) – Job Sector Group at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

Today’s meeting focused on priority sectors for the Philippines to be a significant player globally as well as retain, upscale and grow jobs.

The PSAC Job Sector Group discussed its proposed actions and recommendations in the fields of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Development in the agriculture sector through the Go Negosyo Kapatid Angat Lahat Agri Program (KALAP); roadmap to one million new jobs by 2028 in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)/Digital; accelerate talent upgrading, adopt competitive incentives and ensure policy consistency, and improve ease and cost of doing business in the Manufacturing Services; making the Philippines a world class Maritime Services Hub; and unlocking the nation’s potential in Electric Vehicles (EV) with the high opportunities on EV value chain for the Philippines, leading the world to a green future.

From the proposed actions and recommendations, President Marcos Jr. cited the importance of looking at the local market as the country envisions to be the number one Healthcare Services Hub serving Filipinos and the world, suggested the organization of farmers cooperatives in Agri MSME Development, and addressed several issues and roadblocks raised by the PSAC towards achieving their recommendations.
