President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attended the 33rd National Convention of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) as guest of honor at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City.

The convention is a yearly event of the PCGA that gathers its members from all 12 districts all over the country. This year’s theme is, ‘PCGA in the Millennium: Reliable, Relevant, Important.’

PCGA Director of Auxiliary District, CGADSEM Commodore Beethoven Sur said, “To give meaning and purpose for our theme, this convention will highlight the policy initiative of our mandatory projects by daring to make bold steps to institutionalize our plans and programs. This will make our organization truly reliable, relevant, and important. With our spirit of volunteerism to serve the Filipino people in general and the coastal community in particular, together we will take a chance to make those moves a reality.”

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, PCGA National Director Vice Admiral Valentin Prieto Jr., PCGA national officials and its district directors were also present in the convention.
