“Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino, ginugunita natin ang ating mga kusina bilang santuwaryo ng ating kasaysayan, ng ating kultura at pagkatao bilang Pilipino,” remarked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the 2025 Filipino Food Month (FFM) Nationwide Kick-off Celebration at the Quezon Provincial Capitol in Lucena City.

In his speech, President Marcos Jr. highlighted how food serves as a symbol of unity, love and tradition among Filipinos. He noted that a simple invitation to eat — ‘Tara, kain tayo!’ — reflects the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people.

He also underscored the importance of experiential tourism, where both foreign visitors and locals can explore the country’s diverse culinary offerings.

“Mga kababayan, sa pamamagitan ng ating mga pagkain, matutuklasan natin ang ating pagka-Pilipino — malikhain, matatag at may malasakit sa kapwa,” he conveyed.

Alongside celebrating Filipino cuisine, the Chief Executive recognized the dedication and hard work of farmers, fisherfolk and workers in the food industry. He emphasized that every dish served on Filipino tables is a product of their perseverance, deserving of support and appreciation.

The President also outlined key government initiatives aimed at ensuring food security and affordability, including the Kadiwa ng Pangulo, the PhP29 Rice Program and Rice for All. These initiatives seek to lower food prices and strengthen agricultural production, ensuring that Filipino households have access to nutritious and affordable meals.

“Ating ipagdiwang ang pagkaing Pilipino. Ipamana natin ito sa susunod na henerasyon. Panatilihin natin ang ating mga tradisyon habang tayo ay naglalakbay patungo sa isang bukas na may mas masaganang Bagong Pilipinas,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
