Capping off the first day of the 2024 Post-State of the Nation Address (SONA) Discussions, leading government officials and policymakers engaged in a focused session on health and social welfare protection held at the Hilton Hotel in Pasay City on July 23, 2024.
The topics included the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) Centers which are designed to provide immediate medical attention to non-critical patients, thereby reducing the burden on hospitals and ensure timely care.
The Session also covered plans to enhance the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). The proposed upgrades are expected to expand the reach and effectiveness of this flagship poverty alleviation initiative, providing more comprehensive support to vulnerable families.
Environmental health was addressed with the rehabilitation of Pasig River. This project aims to restore its ecological balance, improve public health and provide a cleaner environment for surrounding communities.
Housing security was another focal point, with the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program seeking to provide affordable and sustainable housing solutions to low-income families.
These initiatives underscore the Administration’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of all Filipinos through strategic health and social welfare initiatives.
