President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. presided over the 1st Joint National Peace and Order Council and Regional Peace and Order Council (NPOC-RPOC) Meeting 2024 at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace.

The meeting gathered officials from the Peace and Order Council, both in the national and regional levels, to discuss the government’s ways of further strengthening efforts to ensure peace and order across the country.

As the current NPOC Chair, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos Jr. gave updates on the Council’s various progress in terms of the government’s collective effort to promoting safety and security among Filipinos. According to him, the Administration has made significant achievements in addressing issues such as peace situation, insurgency efforts, anti-illegal operations, crime prevention and barangay development, among others.

Aside from these, the Council also tackled matters concerning national security, the latest drug situation and cybersecurity concerns from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).
