President Rodrigo Roa Duterte participated in the Second Plenary Session: COVID-19 and Socio-Economic Recovery and Development, and in the Retreat Session: ASEM Issues/International and Regional Issues, on the final day of the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM13) Summit via virtual convention.
During the Second Plenary Session, President Duterte delivered his intervention that focused on the following topics — Addressing Issues caused by COVID-19; Advancing Post-COVID-19 Socio-Economic Recovery for Shared Growth; and Rebuilding a Resilient Future.
Likewise, the President delivered an intervention in the Retreat Session whereby Leaders openly discussed international and regional issues, with particular focus on Reinforcing Partnership; Strengthening Solidarity Rather than Division; and Exchanging Views on Issues of Common Concerns.
After the two (2) Sessions, ASEM Leaders officially adopted three (3) outcome documents, namely the ASEM 13 Chair’s Statement; Phnom Penh Statement on the Post-COVID-19 Socio-Economic Recovery; and The Way Forward on ASEM Connectivity.
In the Closing Session, ASEM13 Chair Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, delivered his closing remarks and officially concluded the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit.
