During the 12th CEO Forum and 114th General Membership Meeting of the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines (SEIPI), President Benigno S. Aquino III proudly stated that the Philippines is indeed formidable for consistently being one of the fastest growing countries in the region in terms of economy.

The President pointed out the significance of expanding and building relationships with others while the Philippines is expanding its opportunities for growth. Working together, he said, is the key in nation building and he believes that the country will be able to achieve its goals as long as it has true partners such as SEIPI. Thousands of workers were retrained and employed through the organization’s cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Training for Work Scholarship Program and it has also conducted productive discussions with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in updating the electronics roadmap of the Philippines.

“Today, more and more, your work is complemented by both government and society’s efforts. And I know that we will weather all adversity so long as we keep the faith in each other. We pledge our rightful support to you and together, let us continue to find ways to spur the development not only of your industry and your businesses but also of our country and our people,” the President said.

SEIPI is the largest group of Filipino and foreign electronics companies in the Philippines. It is currently in charge of implementing TESDA’s scholarship program which will train about 860 people to become electronics operators for the country’s electronics industry.
