“As we commemorate your anniversary, we commend your sacrifices, hard work and genuine service for the country. Remember that your tasks, regardless of magnitude or gravity, leave an impact on the lives of our people,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conveyed, urging the Philippine National Police (PNP) to prioritize the safety and well-being of the nation as the government continuously aims to strive for a better Philippines under the vision of a ‘Bagong Pilipinas’.

In his speech during the 123rd Police Service Anniversary at Camp Crame in Quezon City, the President reiterated his orders to the police force to remain as the nation’s partners in upholding peace and order across the land while working on the PNP’s aspiration in a new era of the country’s profound transformation.

“Sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas, ang ating mga kapulisan ay maaasahan, malalapitan at mapagkakatiwalaan. Malakas ang kumpiyansa at matatag ang ugnayan sa pagitan ng pulisya at ng sambayanan… Tayong lahat ay nagkakaisa sa ating mithiing makamit ang isang mas mapayapa at maunlad na bayan,” he said.

President Marcos Jr. commended the current PNP leadership under Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil for collectively taking aggressive steps toward sustaining the gains of peace and order.

According to him, it led the police force to intensify its patrol operations and police deployment, resulting to a notable drop in crime rates, particularly in crime-prone areas.

He lauded the PNP’s swift responses to the calls of many Filipinos for police assistance, noting the operationalization of the PNP Cybersecurity Operations Center last May to intensify government’s efforts in strengthening cyber-patrolling.

“These achievements were made possible because of the PNP’s resolve to uphold the rule of law and the unparalleled dedication and service of our police officers.. In carrying out this task, the police need to be disciplined, transparent and fair. Erring and corrupt police personnel will face appropriate sanction,” President Marcos Jr. emphasized.

Likewise, he reaffirmed the Administration’s staunch support towards the Comprehensive Capability Enhancement Program to ensure the welfare of all PNP officers and personnel, adding that the government will continue to provide additional logistical resources and advanced information technology tools to further empower the police force.

“As long as we are united by our common goal of protecting our people and ensuring the rule of law reigns supreme, we are on track towards a safe, secure and empowered ‘Bagong Pilipinas’,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
