As a testament of its commitment to further uphold its contributions to nation building under the vision of a ‘Bagong Pilipinas,’ the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) celebrated its 120th Founding Anniversary this month with new milestones to celebrate its twelve (12) decades of service to the country.

With its theme, ‘Bagong BIR Para sa Bagong Pilipinas,’ the Bureau formally unveiled its newest logo which affirmed BIR’s representation of its mission, values, heritage and future aspirations that will serve as the face of an efficient and reliable public service for the years to come.

In his speech, BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. said that the logo pays tribute to all Filipinos who have contributed immensely to the success of BIR over the decades.

“It honors the legacy of those who came before us and sets the stage for future generations to build upon. It is a symbol of our unity, our collective vision for a prosperous future,” he remarked.

During the celebration, the Commissioner announced the Bureau’s various programs that will further enhance its various services to better serve the Filipino taxpayers, including the launch of the newly improved BIR website (www.bir.gov.ph).

“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that tax administration is friendly to our taxpayers so businesses can focus on what they do best — growing, innovating and contributing to our economy. In the next few years, you can look forward to more online services,” Commissioner Lumagui Jr. emphasized.

Likewise, he reaffirmed the Bureau’s efforts to continue its existing programs that ensure efficient and effective tax collection, as well as prevent illegal activities that hamper the nation’s growth.

“I have to highlight our aspiration: By 2028, the BIR is highly digital, propelled by empowered Revenuers with integrity, providing excellent services aligned with international tax standards,” he expressed in his keynote message.
