President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited a vaccination site to support the Department of Health’s (DOH) nationwide booster vaccination campaign dubbed ‘PinasLakas’ at the Pasig City Sports Center in Pasig City.

Launched at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) on 26 July 2022, the COVID-19 vaccination campaign aims to increase the number of Filipinos who have been given booster shots to help maintain the country’s wall of immunity.

“Ang sadya ko po rito ngayong hapon ay napakasimple lamang.  Tinitingnan ko po kung maganda at mahusay ang patakbo ng ating booster rollout na ating ginagawa ngayon,” said the Chief Executive, who inspected some areas of the vaccination site before proceeding to the program proper.

President Marcos Jr. acknowledged the Pasig City local government for the orderly vaccination process that the vaccinees underwent.  He likewise conveyed his gratitude to the individuals who went to the vaccination site in order to receive their booster shot as vaccines remain to be the best long-term solution to the pandemic.

“Kaya’t kayo na nandito na magpapa-booster na ay hikayatin ninyo ‘yung mga kasamahan ninyo, ‘yung pamilya ninyo lahat, sabihin ninyo lahat na magpa-booster na para hindi niyo na kailangan alalahanin itong COVID na ito para masasabi natin dito sa Pilipinas ay tapos na. Wala naman tayong ibang panlaban dito kung hindi ang vaccine,” the President remarked.

The PinasLakas campaign is the Marcos Administration’s way of boosting the country’s vaccination programs so that progress towards a more health-conscious and safer nation is assured. DOH Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire joined the Chief Executive in the vaccination site visit.
