President Benigno S. Aquino III, together with his sisters Pinky, Ballsy and Viel, attended a Eucharistic mass at the Manila Memorial Park to commemorate the 4th death anniversary of the late President Corazon Aquino.

During the homily, Father Manoling Francisco reflected on the similarities of President Cory and Pope Francis who both preferred simple and humble ways of living and were constantly preoccupied with the needs of other people. He said that both of them may have remained simple because they are deeply rooted to their Creator. “They did not need power and glory because the Lord is sufficient to them,” Father Francisco stated.

Close friends of the Aquino family were also present in the event, including Vice President Jejomar Binay, PCSO Chairperson Margarita Juico, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., Chief of the Presidential Management Staff Julia Abad, Senate President Franklin Drilon, Pangasinan 4th District Representative Gina de Venecia and Risa Hontiveros.
