President Benigno S. Aquino III graced the inauguration of the Coca-Cola FEMSA Canlubang Expansion Plant, which houses three of the fastest bottling lines for Coca-Cola products in the world.

Together with several officials of the Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Juan Ramon Felix, the President inspected the facility after witnessing the launching of the expansion bottling lines 7 and 8 and the unveiling of the marker of Coca-Cola FEMSA’s new warehouse.

As guest speaker, President Aquino complemented the presence of Coke in the country for its unwavering testament of commitment they have displayed since its operations in 1912.  Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines has invested over US$511 million dollars that reflected on the nation’s growing economy.  These funds went to the rehabilitation and upgrading of several Coca-Cola plants such as in Tacloban, Davao del Sur, and Misamis Oriental.

“I believe that these kinds of strategic investments will ensure your longevity and your continued success. They reveal a keen awareness of the changing times in which we live: that success cannot be won on a single front, that complacency is unacceptable, and that we must continue to innovate and seek out new areas and potentials for growth,” the President said.

Moreover, President Aquino recognized the corporation’s role in community development by citing destruction caused by Typhoon Yolanda, where the whole Coca-Cola system extended their relief efforts to those affected by the calamity.

From a simple concoction to a remarkable brand, he admired Coca-Cola’s goal of not only for refreshments, but also for their determination of spreading happiness to millions of people worldwide.

“Coca-Cola FEMSA has brought happiness to thousands affected by Yolanda; to 8,000 men and women who can return to their homes every day content with the knowledge that they are earning a decent and respectable livelihood; and to millions more Filipinos whose lives you have affected,” President Aquino affirmed.
