Awarding of the Order of Lapu-Lapu to Wounded-in-Action and Killed-in-Action Soldiers

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the awarding of the Order of Lapu-Lapu to several wounded-in-action (WIA) and killed-in-action (KIA) soldiers belonging to the Philippine Army’s 8th Infantry Division (8ID), also known as the ‘Stormtroopers’, in simple ceremonies during his visit to the Camp Lukban Station Hospital located within the Camp General Vicente Lukban in Catbalogan City, Samar.

The Commander-in-Chief pinned the Rank of Kampilan medals to nine (9) WIA soldiers at the Heroes Ward of the Camp Lukban Station Hospital and handed over the Rank of Kalasag medals to the relatives of the five (5) KIA soldiers.
